Taking Local Action
There are many good examples of communities working together to look after their local environment and minimise litter.

"Clean-up Australia Day" (first Sunday in March every year) is a classic example of local community action and is very popular. Contact your Council if you want to participate or visit: www.cleanup.com.au for more information.
Many Councils across Victoria have established Litter Prevention Task Forces with their communities to target local litter issues and "litter hot spots". These projects are done in partnership with Regional Groups and are funded through Sustainability Victoria's Litter Grants.
